Not like the obviously famous Greeks
that conquer many lands
Here by the shore are the gates
A powerful woman with a flaming torch
is the trapped light and her name
Mother of Immigrants. Her welcoming hand
glows world-wide; her gentle eyes comman the bridged-harbor connecting two cities
"keep your traditions and excitement!" she cried,
with statue lips. "Give me your unfortunate,
and immigrants seeking freedom,
the unwanted trash ofyour home.
Send the seasick homeless to me,
I'll show you the way to happiness."
